The Promise of Hope: From the Deepest Valley to the Highest Mountain

Each day suicide claims the lives of nine Australians - seven men and two women. Many more people attempt.

As part of Men's Health Week, the Corporate Mental Health Alliance Australia (CMHAA) wants to raise awareness about the mental health of the men in our lives – fathers, brothers, husbands, sons and co-workers.

Join Dr Kim Hamrosi, CEO of CMHAA in conversation with John Brogden AM, global and Australian suicide prevention campaigner, and author of Profiles in Hope, a book which gathered inspiring stories from 15 well-known and ordinary Australians. One of those, army veteran and Invictus Games Gold Medallist Ben Farinazzo, will join John and share their stories of survival, recovery, and living a purposeful life.

As John writes, “We need to do more with a message of hope. There is a way through the darkest point in your life”. And John and Ben, as much as anyone, know just how hard that feels, and their stories and those in the book serve as a balm for the vulnerable and a beacon of light for those struggling.

Hear their stories and spread the message of hope and support, whether it is for you or those that you love and care for.
